Professional Development
One of the most important traits of an educator is the commitment to lifelong learning. Continuing professional development is vital to staying up to date on curriculum, technology, and instructional practices in the field. Occurring in many forms including informational settings, coursework, or collaboration with colleagues and the leaders in the field, professional development ensures educators are providing students with the most informed, developed, and contemporary practices in current education.
During my time at Penn State, I have been involved with many
professional organizations in my field:
Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association (2014-Present)
National Association for Music Education (2014-Present)
Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators' Association (2014-Present)
National Band Association (2015-Present)
I have also attended the following conferences and workshops for
professional development:
National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Convention (2017)
Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association Conference (2015, 2016, 2017)
Midwest Clinic Band and Orchestra Conference (2015, 2016)
Penn State/PCMEA Region III Music Educators’ Fall Workshop (2015. 2016, 2017)
Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association Summer Conference (2015. 2016, 2017)
